The words of Karin Gabriel (Austria) describing HCM November 2010:

“Do the words I use express how I see the world or do they even influence my perception? If silence is supposed to be part of a meaningful conversation, why is it then so difficult for me not to interrupt somebody while talking?” These and similar questions were on my mind during the three wonderful days of “Hosting Converstaions that Matter” in Nov. 2010 in Vienna.
These days truly have opened my eyes, that I simply have to more often open my ears and keep my mouth shut. Since then I have experienced the power of silence during dialogues myself by people having in return shared information with me that are truly valuable, personal and precious. In addition to this, I have gotten to appreciate my friends even more who simply take their time and attention to fully listen to me whenever I feel the need of being heard.

“Listen with attention. Speak with intention. Tend to the well-being of the of the whole.” With these three principles - so simply put and at the same time so powerful - Dey did not only assign a task for those 72 hours of  HCM only, rather did he present to me a challenge for my interaction with others every single day.

I am truly thankful for this eye - and ear - opening learning!
